Eylem Pelit was born in 1971 in Ankara. After primary school he studied viola in ISTANBUL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY STATE CONSERVATORY. He started bass guitar studies in 1988, studied jazz harmony and theory with Ali Perret.
He took place in Aşkın Arsunan Ethno-Karma Project in 7. International Jazz Festival, he also played in numerous festivals like 14. and 17. Akbank Jazz Festivals, Leverkusen Jazz Festival 2006 and 2007, 11. Ankara Jazz,10.and 11. Istanbul Jazz Festivals, Simdi Stuttgart Jazz Festival, 5. and 6. Alanya Jazz Days Festival, 14. and 16. İzmir Jazz Festivals, 2009 Paris Turkish Week,10. Penang Jazz Festival, 2014 Nanjing Jazz Festival with Okan Ersan and Super Band etc.
He played in concerts and jam-sessions with performers like John Scofield, Claudio Roditi, Fatih Erkoç, Aşkın Arsunan, Okay Temiz, Elvan Aracı, Önder Focan, Mark Harris, Karl Potter, Jack Tama, Russel Melon, Aydın Esen, Kerem Görsev, Fahir Atakoğlu, Stephane Belmondo, Larry, Coryell Muvaffak (maffy) Falay, Mısır'lı Ahmet, Diana Reevese, De De Bridgewater, Rex Richardson, Robby Ameen, Bob Francescini, Amik Guerra, Ernie Watts, Dave Weckl and Yıldız İbrahimova.
He took part in the group that won 3rd position with Levent Çoker's composition on behalf of Turkey in "Eurovision Song Contest" in 1997, Dublin. He played in the albums like Emir Ersoy's ''Cuban Portrait'', Sarp Maden's ''Bence'', Cem Nasuhoglu's '' Yolculuk'', Ayhan Sicimoglu's ''Friends&Family '', Okan Ersan, Askın Arsunan's ''One Day', ''Senay Lambaoglu's "İçimde aşk var" Eren Coskuner's "The Long Way", Ömer Göksel, (Istanbul Super Band) Yahya Dai's "Ümit var mavi", Gülden Göksen's "Güldencaz", Cengiz Özdemir'is "Madimak" Hakan Kursun's "Kütle" and Authentic Anatolian Project which consists of his own musical arrangements. He was involved in many valuable Turkish pop performers' studio records and stage performance like Kayahan, Ajda Pekkan, Nilüfer, Sezen Aksu, Nükhet Duru, İzel, Yaşar, Mustafa Sandal, Işın Karaca, Zülfü Livaneli, Edip Akbayram, Modern Folk Üçlüsü, Nazan Öncel, Funda Arar, Volkan Konak etc. In 2015 he composed the musical "Fosforlu Cevriye", which was produced by Tiyatro Kare, he also has a musical "Tahir ile Zuhre", which has not been staged yet. Being a member of Grup Habbecik, Hi Caz Hicaz, Authentic Anatolian Project and Passiflora groups, Eylem Pelit also plays bass guitar in İstanbul Superband, which consists of Turkey's master jazz musicians and does musical arrangments. In 2013 he realized Authentic Anatolian Project with Sony company. In 2015 he released his first own album "Yedi Uyuyanlar".
He's worked as bass guitarist and arranger in "Ministry of Culture State Modern Folk Musical Group" since its foundation (1993-2013), as of 2013 he's been working as artist instructor in ISTANBUL UNIVERSITY STATE CONSERVATORY.
The musical of "Tahir & Zühre" is composed, arranged and conducted by Eylem Pelit and promotional concert was staged for the first time at the end of 2017 Zorlu Performing Arts Center, İstanbul. The musical of “Tahir and Zühre” is the first musical in Turkey which is completely scripted and composed in Broadway / West End format.
